*FirstListen Blog

So, I want to talk to you about the new FirstListen Blog. To me, this is the biggest, best and most important new feature FirstListen has to offer.
There were a couple of fundamental problems with the old website. 1.) There was too much downtime between projects and 2.) I found that there were a lot of artists I wanted FirstListen to work with, but for whatever reason, the projects never came to fruition. Thankfully, I think the blog will help solve both of these problems. I plan to blog about new artists that maybe FirstListen isn't directly working with, but that we like. We'll at least try to provide a stream (or a website that contains a stream) of some of these artists' music and we will let you decide by a shorter review system if you're into it or not. These postings will have no end date and can be viewed/listened to at your leisure. There's no requirement to provide feedback for blog posts, but it would certainly be encouraged for you to listen and check these out. I'll try to put up as many posts as possible to feed those who are constantly looking for new music and want to be "in the know."

If you follow us on Twitter, our Twitter page will automatically let you know when we make new blog postings. Also, on our blog page, you can sign up for email updates from us if you want to be notified by email when a new post goes live. It's up to you how you want to be involved with the blog if you want to be involved, but I really hope that you are. Our goal is to really serve as your filter for music and keep you up to date on all different genres of music and give you the opportunity to share your voice and rate these artists (via the star system). At the very least, we'd love for you to at least check it out! We have already put up the first post and more will come. The first post is about a past artist of ours, Portugal. The Man, who we believe has 1 of the best albums of 2009. Listen to the tracks we're streaming and let us know what you think!

*FirstListen on Facebook!

I am proud to announce that we have finally put FirstListen up on Facebook. I'm sure many of you already use Facebook, so if you do, please become a "fan" of FirstListen. Some of you have already found your way to our page and to those of you who have already become a fan, THANK YOU! And if you have been to the page and have not become a fan, shame on you! ;) So, become a fan. It's the cool thing to do.

*Roman Candle Reminder

If you haven't already completed the Roman Candle survey for "Oh Tall Tree in the Ear," you've probably received a survey reminder or two about it.
These reminders (for our more senior members) are now automated! Before, I was having to manually send them out, but no more. So, the survey will end on time as it won't need to be pushed back. All of the info about the Roman Candle project is below...

That's all I got for now. I will be sending out at least 1 more message before the end of the year. Thanks to those of you who have reported a minor bug here and there. For the most part, the site has been pretty bug free, which I'm VERY glad about. I appreciate all the kind words and everything else.
