First off, they're definitely better than the last few bands I've had to listen to on this site...
However, I don't feel they're very unique. I like the music and it's poppy and catchy, but I feel that I like it because it sounds like songs I've heard before. It's not hard to pick out their influences or bands they're striving to compete against. They don't really have their own 'unique' sound, whether its melodically, or lyrically. If they find that spark, I'd definitely be a big fan.
it was good enough. I don't feel I got to properly listen to them, though- between my own music habits and the sheer amount of music to listen to from firslisten, I've been unable to really appreciate the downloads, or at least listen to them enough to form an opinion that would be worth knowing.
Probably the best selection yet on FirstListen. Great hooks and melodies.
I've listened to this album a few times, and every time, I help but think that the album is distinctly formulaic and the band wears its influences on its sleeves. The Wallflowers, Counting Crows, The Fray, and other solid pop rock bands are essentially aped on this album. I can't put my finger exactly on why the incorporation of these influences rubs me the wrong way, but it honestly feels that on more than one occasion, entire riffs and lyrics are stolen from better bands. ('We Can Work it All Out' from 'Sleep It Off' is extremely Switchfoot-y, and the 'doop doo doop' from 'Here We Are' is similarly Train-ish). It seems like they tried to pick the most popular and catchy aspects of other bands and stole them outright.

Bands I flashed on most while listening to these tracks were The Fray, Snow Patrol, Matchbox 20 and Vertical Horizon. I mostly enjoyed the music while listening, but whenever I turned my mind back to think about it, I found the tunes were largely forgettable, prompting me to go back and listen again. Lather, rinse, repeat. The ultra-repetetive short choruses on pretty much every single song were, to me, a bit grating, but for radio play they could be a catchy plus. Not a band I would actively seek out at this point, but a pleasant experience if I'm already there.
