sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt

I really enjoyed the first song. When the instrumentals started I was worried it was going to be really 'pop'y, and be really non-original. BUT I was corrected when the vocals started in. She has a unique style. I really like it. However, when song number 2 started, I did not enjoy it. It WAS really 'pop'y. There needs to be more feelign in the lower notes. Maybe make them quieter or raspier. And the third song's instrumentals were great. The background beat is really creative. The vocals fit with this one really well. And number 4 and 5, back to really 'pop'y. 6, more creative back beats. 7, pop. 8, creative. 9, creative, but I didnt dig the skipping beats. 10, nice. 11, great before the beats started, after...pop. 12, I didnt enjoy the speakign parts. 13, fun adn creative. I like the parts when you take out the beats and then add them again, but the repetative andre-ah, andrea-oh get old. 14, boring pop again.

just sometimes

charlotte sometimes has a unique, edgy sound and lyrics that i appreciate, but can take only one or two songs at a time. this is not an album i'd listen to front to back...at times it sounded like she was over trying to be unique and edgy and ended up just sounding harsh...which resulted in the dreaded click of the skip button. she's got some interesting sounds that do well one at a time, but not as a listen through album. i found myself feeling like she was just whining/complaining instead of singing. she's got something different, which is nice and made me want to like her, but in the end i just found myself agitatated,...sometimes.

not really digging it.

Her voice was really different, which I like. It doesn't sound cookie-cutter like a lot of other new pop/rock stuff out now. However, the music seemed to lack any direction. It didn't flow well together and Ir eally couldn't get into it at all, no matter how many times I tried to listen.

Another average band

Didn't like it. Music talent was a lot less than average. I didn't think the lead singers voice or lyrics were very catch at all. Keep working on music theory skills and try to write catch melodies instead of repetitive licks and drifts. Sorry, again, I didn't enjoy this record at all.

Not sure whether I like this artist or not

Charlotte Sometimes has an Annie Lennox/Shirley Manson appeal with a Cindy Lauper campy-ness that I cannot quite get into completely. I listened to this record many, many times for its shear freakiness. It's almost Enya-does-Punk or something! I just cannot put my finger on what it is that I don't particularly care for!

I really liked this album

This was a really great album, they reminded me of like flyleaf, and dirty little rabbits. They don't sound the same, but the genre of music, and their lyrics are similar. Really liked the sound of them!

Love her music. :)

I love her voice! She sounds like a mixture of Regina Spektor and Fiona Apple. She has a touch of Poe also. I love how sometimes the music that accompanies her is so minimal.. that's all that's needed. There's nothing lacking in her music.. the lyrics, melodies, arrangements.. they're great! It's so tough to just choose 3 tracks as my favorite.. there's too many that I like!

Average

While some of the songs resonated, a lot of them seemed to lack a musical direction. I think she'll be great once she clarifies what she wants her sound to be.

Definite Potential

She has a cool voice, though the songs are somewhat repetitive and she over annunciates a handfull of words. There's kind of a Fionna Apple sound that works, but it's not quite polished yet.

Unique

Charlotte has a very unique voice and style. The first time I listened to it, I didn't really care for it that much, but I like to give music a chance. So I listened to her music quite a few more times, it really grew on me. Charlotte really started to grow on me. Her eclectic sound is refreshing and soothing.
