Love this EP, he's got a great quality to his voice and beautiful lyrics. A pleasure to listen to.

Eh...this didn't blow me away

I didn't dislike this at all, but I wasn't that excited over it either. He sounded a little like Bruce Springsteen. I like his slower songs better for some reason. My favorite is 'On My Side'.

Pretty nice...

This is nice... maybe not my favorite offering ever, but not my least favorite either... just nice. He reminds me a little of Griffin House (who I quite like)... especially on the songs 'See It My Way', 'So Wrong For Me' & 'It Won't Be Long'. I like the quiet feel to the songs, with just guitar and harmony... and I like the live audience sounds. My favorites are 'So Wrong For Me', 'It Won't Be Long', and 'Home in the Woods' - these songs are just the ones I find the most pleasant to listen to, that strike me right away as ones I want to listen to again. This is music I would pop in if I were in the right mood, but I don't see it being one that would just take up residence in my cd player for weeks at a time. I would probably go hear him live if he were to come to town...

Okay Alright

Not my favourite album to come from FirstListen, but I have to say FirstListen is still producing offerings that are top notch.

Interesting, soothing, nice

I like this EP. The music is soothing, yet interesting in its harmonies and use of different instruments. I like all of the songs on the EP, especially 'So Wrong for Me' and 'On My Side'. The last song, 'Home in the Woods' is not in keeping with the rest of the EP; it's faster and more folks-y, which can be nice. Overall, I like it and I can't wait to hear the whole album!

Meh.

I'm not a huge fan of this record. Cory reminds me of a wanna-be Mark Knopfler... I think his songwriting is good, but the production ruined this album for me - the choice of instruments and sounds was barely adequate or poor in almost every instance (except for 'It Won't Be Long'... I enjoyed the production of that song very much). I think with a different producer this could have been a great album.

Great 'feel' to his music.

Honestly, I enjoyed just about every part of this EP. It definitely fits into the type of music that I enjoy listening to - especially with a cup of coffee on a lazy weekend. Lovers and Friends is one of my faves from the album, more than likely due to it's liveliness. All in all, a great artist and album.

Not that great

I feel like he is trying to hard to be like a Ray Lamontagne

Promising

Slightly funky roots rock; strong live performance. Lead vocals sound somewhat like Bob Seger, but stylistically more like Ray LaMontagne or David Gray, especially on 'So Wrong For Me.' Good potential, but could use more development in lyrics and production (songs often begin and end suddenly). Lovers and Friends: Fairly simple lyrics, with some repetition; nice instrumentals that build through the song. See It My Way: Pleasant upbeat song with interesting rhythm. Lots of counterpoint from instrumental line. Stylistically there's some Springsteen here. So Wrong For Me: Intimate, beautiful song; ends too abruptly. On My Side: Nice balance between vocals and instrumentals. This song gets everything right. It Won't Be Long: Pronounced folk flavor. Home in the Woods: Feel-good song with nice banjo.

Will Hoge-lite

It has a indie country feel too it. He kind of reminds me of a less rockin' Will Hoge. Will Hoge-lite. The lyrics and music are a little cheesey. I'm really not a fan.
