This is a great band!!!

When listening to this band the first thing I thought was they sounded like Coldplay. I really enjoyed this band!!

Ears are especially pleased...

I really enjoyed the sounds of Barcelona. I find myself listening to them over and over and each time I hear them I enjoy them more. They certainly have their own thing going on to appreciate, but I do feel they have a familiar sound..to the likes of The Fray or Coldplay, both very good things.

fun, catchy, current

barcelona was a pleasant suprise. catchy songs, nice vocals, some interesting arrangement/change ups within the songs and current sound made this album refreshing without being too in your face 'unique'. i recommend checking them out.

Atmospheric

Barcelona's release is bold and strong. And after the first few listens. It doesn't seem to grab too strong. However, I do foresee it being an album that will take several more listens to latch on to. The musicianship is great, the lyrics are thought provoking and the vocals are natural. The album has a nice mix of tempos and sounds that is welcoming, but not too varied to distract. I am looking forward to rediscovering this album in a couple of weeks.

I liked...

They sort of sounded like a cross between Coldplay and Keane, but with their own sound which is good. Definitely a more laid back record, and I listened to it a lot as background music, but when I caught the lyrics I really liked them and wanted to pay more attention.

Not bad

Nice variety of songs on the album. Good vocals. Not exactly your typical Indie Rock band. A couple songs remind me of the 80s music.

Decent.

Definitely not bad, and I don't actively dislike any of the songs, but they're difficult to concentrate on -- background music, as other people have said. Despite that, though, there are bits of each song that I really enjoy (e.g., in 'Lesser Things,' I love the 'you've got to step it up bit, step it up a bit more' line, and the way the background vocals come to surface in the middle of the chorus; in 'Response,' I adore the part from 2:14 to 2:46, particularly the way the bass solo is mirrored later on by the guitar, and the way 'I'll fight you' is said). Some songs, I feel, go on for too long, and I found myself getting a little impatient with them as I was waiting for something to /happen/, but it's a decent album overall.

Album good, name confusing.

I was a little confused when trying to look these guys up because there's another band called Barcelona--they both have MySpaces and everything. It might help the band if they differentiate their name from the other people (or sue the other people if they used the name first). If I wanted to go to a show, I'd be hesitant because of the name confusion. Fans want to support their band, not someone else!

really great sound-very chill

I liked this band though they sound like a lot of other bands out there today. This album is catchy, quirky and fun.
